面接現れたANZUさんはとっても可愛らしいお嬢さんで、レッスンをしている姿は想像出来るものの、注意をしなくてはいけない場面でどうされるか、こちらが心配になるほどでした。

短かった2か月でしたが、彼女からの不安げな表情も消え、レッスン中に指導する声も大きくなり、メリハリのあるレッスンができるようになるのには、時間は掛かりませんでした。

ANZU先生、子供たちにたくさんの愛情のこもったレッスンをありがとうございました！

私の突然のフリにも対応してくださってありがとうございました 

 

以下はANZU先生が残してくださったメッセージです。

The first thing that I thought of when writing this comment was the question I got asked in my interview. “What are you able to give to the children?”
I remember I went blank when I was in the interview because I was sure that all the other teachers had more experience than me and I was not sure what I was able to give to the children that nobody else can. Before I started I was very nervous especially that I had never done anything like this before. However all the students and staff were very kind and welcomed me with open arms. The staff had been very supportive and helped me when I was struggling, and the students helped me out when I made a mistake and were very friendly. After a few days I realized that I was just over worrying about this whole experience. After actually teaching the children, I realized that there was no point in over thinking about what I am able to do for the children. I decided that if I put in my 100% in every class that I teach and support the children to the best of my ability, I will be able to give something to the children as I teach.

I feel that I could not have asked for a more friendly environment to work in. The staff respect each other and the students help each other out in class. Also the thing I like the most about Langland is the relationship between the students and the teachers. Of course the students work very hard in class but more importantly there was always laughter in every class. It was obvious that the teachers enjoyed what they were doing and that both the teachers and the students were having fun during the lessons. It made me realise that this environment is very important for the children to want to learn and to improve.

I appreciate all the help and welcome that I got from everyone, and all the skills and memories that I was able to gain from this experience. I have become a more confident person than I was at the start and I want to thank each and every one of the people who supported me through the 2 months.

このコメントを書き始めるにあたって、最初に思いつくことは、私が面接にきて聞かれた質問のことです。
“あなたは、子供たちに何を与えることができますか？” 私は、そのとき頭が真っ白になったことを思い出します。というのは、確かなことというのは、他のすべての先生方は、私よりも経験があるということ。私が何かを子供たちに与えることができるのか、それも他の人ができないことで。 それが何かは、その時はよくわかりませんでした。
このような経験が初めてだった私にとって、最初はとても緊張しました。しかし、すべての生徒さんや先生がた、スタッフの方々はみな親切で、私を温かく迎え入れてくれました。私が困ったときには、スタッフがとてもよくサポートしてくださり、また生徒たちも私のミスをむしろ助けてくれたり、とてもフレンドリーに接してくれました。数日後には私は、この経験に対して、自分がむしろ過剰に心配しすぎていたことにも気づかされました。実際に子供たちを教えてみて、自分が子供たちのために何ができるかについてあまり考えすぎる必要はないことにも気づきました。もし、私が各クラスの中で、自分のもてる力を100％出して子供たちを教えサポートしてあげることができれば、きっと子供たちに何かを教えることができるのでないかということに気づき、そうすることを決心しました。
私は働く環境のなかで、ここよりもっとフレンドリーなところを見つけることはできないと感じました。講師やスタッフはお互いを尊敬し、また生徒同士もクラスの中でお互いに助け合っていました。またこのラングランドで私が一番好きだったのは生徒と先生の関係です。もちろん、クラスの中で生徒は一生懸命に勉強していますが、もっと大事なこととして、いつもクラスに笑いがあるということです。先生自身が自分たちの行っていることを楽しみ、また先生と生徒の両方がレッスンの間に楽しい時間をもっているということです。子供たちが学んでもっとできるようになりたい！と思うのには、こういう環境が必要なのだと気づかされました。
みなさんからの温かい歓迎や助け、そしてここで得ることのできたすべでのスキルと経験に感謝いたします。私自身、ここでのインターンを始める前よりもより自分に自信をもつことができるようになったこと、本当にこの2か月支えてくださったみなさま、本当にありがとうございました。
